The coverings will also not eliminate the moisture problems and paint and epoxies won’t last long on wet concrete.

Insulation

If you are turning your garage into living space or if you want your garage to be more comfortable in hot and cold weather, then consider insulating the concrete slab.

For a garage conversion, the floor preparation is more than just adding some insulation and installing a finish floor surface. If you want to remove the garage door, you’ll also need to fill in the opening it creates.
